My name is Megan McMinn and I am the owner of Signature Stitch LLC. I have been working behind the scenes making this dream a reality for years and I am thrilled to finally see it come to light! If there is one thing people have told me about opening an alterations shop in the heart of Mississippi, it’s that there is a NEED to be filled! After working as a seamstress for over 5 years, I feel confident enough to fill that need.

My grandmother was a seamstress in this town for many years altering and making formalwear. She is my muse and my mentor. It was because of her that I changed my career path from Pediatrician to Fashion Designer when I got to college (what a jump, right?)! I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2024 with a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising with a concentration in design and sustainability. I have a heart for giving clothes a new purpose and firmly believe that the clothes should fit the person—not the other way around.

When people come to me to get alterations, the first thing I usually hear is “Wow! You are so young to be a seamstress!” which has inspired me to dive even deeper into my craft. Being a 23 year-old seamstress gives me the opportunity to: work extended hours, relate to people on a more personal level, and start with a clear, organized approach. When people ask me what my hobbies are, I realize how blessed I am to have my hobby as my job! I truly love giving pre-loved garments new life and taking on projects to watch someone’s face light up when their grandma’s wedding dress fits perfectly to them!
